How do I remove Black Bars from a video?

How do I remove Black Bars from an entire video via the Crop Wizard?

  1. Add your video to a project via the Add Media options in the left side nav bar..
  2. Click on the Wizard offline_bolt-24px icon in the side bar on the left.
  3. Select Crop Wizard crop-24px.
  4. Select any Aspect ratio. If you don't wish to change it, simply select the same aspect ratio of your video.
  5. Toggle AutoCrop autocrop off (the switch moves to the left and turns gray)
  6. Toggle Remove Black Bars Remove-Black-Bars-Icon on (the switch moves to the right and turns purple).
  7. Click the Select Focal Point button Select-Focal-Point-Button if you wish to shift the video left, right, up, down or zoom in slightly. If not, ignore this button to maintain a central crop.
  8. Click the Crop Video(s) button Crop-Video(s)-Button. You will be taken to the Outputs screen, where a Draft Render of your video will begin processing. 
  9. Wait for the Render to be completed (rendering is done in the cloud, not on your local machine) and then view the resulting output.
  10. If you are happy with the result, click the Remove Watermark button Remove-Watermark-Button. This will process the full render.

How do I remove Black Bars from an entire video on the Timeline?

  1. Add your video to a project via the Add Media options in the left side nav bar.
  2. Click on the Shot List view_module-24px icon in the top left to see how Kamua has AutoCut your video.
  3. Click on the Add all Shots to Timeline button Add-all-Shots-to-Timeline-Button in the small window at the beginning of the Shot List.image-Jul-10-2020-03-16-03-89-PM
  4. Open the Settings settings-24px panel using the button on the left side nav bar. 
  5. Select the desired Aspect Ratio  for the Project using either the quick icon buttons or the drop-down.
  6. Toggle Remove Black Bars Remove-Black-Bars-Icon on (the switch moves to the right and turns purple).
  7. When Remove Black Bars is enabled, you will see a checkered overlay over the Black Bars. You will not be able to move or enlarge the Crop Box over this area.
  8. Click the Draft Render (watermark, low quality) or the Full Render (no watermark, full quality) option on the bottom right of the screen.
  9. Wait for the render to be completed (rendering is done in the cloud, not on your local machine) and then view the resulting output.

How do I remove Black Bars from just one or a few Clips, not the whole video?

  1. Click on a Clip in the Timeline to open up the Clip Modal
    OR
    Click on the Preview ondemand_video-24px icon in the left side nav bar.
  2. Select Clip Options build-24px on the top right.
  3. Toggle Remove Black Bars Remove-Black-Bars-Icon on (the switch moves to the right and turns purple)
  4. NOTE: You will not be able to use the Fit Video feature, while Remove Black Bars is enabled.
